Across two studies, we conducted a preliminary psychometric examination of the newly developed Motivational Awareness Questionnaire (MAQ). Motivational awareness is the ability to consciously differentiate, verbalize, and analyze one’s own motivational states and use this knowledge for deliberate motivation and behavior regulation.
