European Health Evidence

The European alternative to PubMed

EUVIMED is the European alternative to PubMed: a central, multilingual research platform for medicine, nursing, life sciences and healthcare. It brings together international and European literature sources, study registries, open-access full texts, citations and retraction notices in one search. Unlike pure bibliographic databases, EUVIMED supports the entire research process – from discovery and appraisal with LIVIA and CLARA to traceable evidence synthesis. European in focus, transparent, interoperable and designed for science and healthcare.

Good research starts with the sources.

Literature databases, European repositories and trial registries in one search. See which sources EUVIMED connects and what the additional data can tell you.

Connected literature sources

Select sources individually in the search workspace. Coverage, search features and full-text access vary by provider and account access.

PubMed

Indexed data

Biomedical literature records with PMIDs, abstracts and MeSH terms where available in the connected collection.

Europe PMC

API connection

Medical and life sciences literature with links to available full texts in PubMed Central.

OpenAIRE

API connection

Publications from the OpenAIRE Graph connect European and international repositories and related research information.

CORE

API connection

Aggregated research from repositories and journals, with metadata, abstracts and full-text links where available.

DOAJ

API connection

Article records from the Directory of Open Access Journals, including journal and open-access information.

Semantic Scholar

API connection

Cross-disciplinary literature records with available abstracts and citation information.

OpenAlex

API connection

Connected scholarly publications with author data, topics and open-access information.

CareLit

API connection

Specialist literature for nursing and health professions. Full texts and additional content depend on the relevant CareLit access rights.

Crossref DOI

Indexed data

DOI-based publication metadata for finding articles, journals and bibliographic connections.

A separate source type: trial registry

ClinicalTrials.gov

Registered studies with trial status, design and sponsor information. A registry entry is not a peer-reviewed results article and does not by itself establish effectiveness.

What else a result can tell you.

When suitable identifiers are available, EUVIMED enriches loaded results with access, citation and publication information.

Unpaywall

Open-access status, licences and available full-text links for results with a DOI. A missing record does not necessarily mean that no open full text exists.

Crossref · Retraction Watch

Publication and retraction notices via Crossref, including Retraction Watch notices available there. The absence of a notice is not a guarantee that an article is free of concerns.

OpenCitations

Open citation counts for matching DOI records. Counts depend on coverage and are not a standalone measure of quality.

PubMed Central

Matches DOI, PMID or PMCID identifiers to available PMC full texts. Rights, availability and figures depend on the individual publication.

Transparency is part of research.

EUVIMED searches connected collections and APIs. Result counts can overlap; deduplication applies to loaded results. Source limits, licences and temporary API outages may constrain the results. No single search guarantees a complete systematic literature search.

Check the source information for its data status. “Current” indicates an API connection, not a guarantee that all provider data is updated instantly. Cached responses may lag behind.
