Qualidade de vida de agentes de segurança: uma revisão bibliográfica sobre fatores ocupacionais, físicos e psicossociais em policiais militares brasileiros

The quality of life of public security agents has become an increasingly relevant scientific and social topic, especially due to the physical, emotional, and organizational demands inherent to police work. This study aimed to analyze, through a literature review, the main factors associated with the quality of life of Brazilian military police officers, with emphasis on occupational, physical, and psychosocial aspects identified in recent publications. Methodologically, this is a descriptive and analytical literature review based on five scientific articles published between 2021 and 2025, selected for their thematic relevance to the investigated object. The analyzed studies showed that the quality of life of these professionals is influenced by multiple factors, including work overload, musculoskeletal pain, differences between work sectors, physical activity levels, and especially burnout and emotional exhaustion. The results also indicated that, although some groups reported an overall positive perception of quality of life, the environmental domain tends to show the lowest scores, while higher levels of emotional exhaustion and depersonalization are associated with worse perceptions of well-being. It is concluded that promoting quality of life among security agents requires permanent institutional strategies, including mental health care, professional appreciation policies, prevention of physical disorders, and encouragement of physical activity and better working conditions.
