Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?
Energy metabolism is a complex biological phenomenon involving chemical transformations, cellular functioning, muscular activity, and physiological responses to exercise. Although these forms of knowledge are closely related from a scientific perspective, they are often addressed separately across different school subjects. This article aims to analyze, through an integrative literature review, the relationships between metabolism, physical exercise and health, discussing possibilities for interdisciplinary articulation among Chemistry, Biology and Physical Education. Scientific publications related to energy metabolism, physical exercise, exercise physiology, metabolic health, interdisciplinarity, and science education were considered. The analysis was organized into four axes: chemical and biological foundations of metabolism; metabolic responses to exercise; relationships among exercise, metabolism and health; and possibilities for interdisciplinary integration in education. The studies indicate that energy production and utilization, carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, skeletal muscle responses, and exercise-induced adaptations are phenomena that can be interpreted through different fields of knowledge. However, interdisciplinarity should not be reduced to simply bringing together contents from different subjects, but should involve conceptual articulation and collaborative pedagogical planning. It is concluded that metabolism, exercise, and health have significant potential to constitute an interdisciplinary axis capable of connecting chemical, biological, and bodily knowledge with students' everyday experiences, contributing to scientific education and a critical understanding of health.
