This article provides a scholarly historical analysis of the profound changes, modernization processes, and associated contradictions in the social life of Uzbekistan’s rural population between 1991 and 2025. It highlights the reforms implemented during the years of independence to transform the rural landscape, improve infrastructure, and foster the development of small business and private entrepreneurship. Simultaneously, the article examines critical issues such as demographic growth, limitations on land and water resources, employment challenges, the social divide between rural and urban areas, and the impact of migration processes on rural families.
