Objective: To evaluate the application value of holistic nursing strategy for gynecological chemotherapy patients undergoing peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) placement. Methods: A total of 120 patients with gynecological tumors who received chemotherapy and PICC catheterization in our hospital from January 2024 to January 2025 were enrolled. Patients were divided into control group and observation group according to different nursing regimens, with 60 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing care, while the observation group was provided with additional holistic nursing intervention. The two groups were compared in terms of PICC-related complications, local reactions at the puncture site and nursing satisfaction. Results: The total incidence of PICC-related complications and the incidence of local puncture site reactions in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, while the overall qualified rate of nursing satisfaction was higher. All the above differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: The implementation of holistic nursing intervention helps reduce the risk of PICC catheter-related complications in gynecological chemotherapy patients and improve nursing satisfaction, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
