Vollständiger Abstract
Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?
The present study examines how daily habits and behavioural patterns influence the mental health and overall life satisfaction of elderly people. Lifestyle practices include physical activity, dietary habits, sleep patterns, social participation, recreational activities, spiritual practices, health check-ups, medication adherence, and management of chronic diseases. These practices play an important role in maintaining physical health, emotional stability, independence, and dignity in old age. The study focuses on the relationship between healthy lifestyle practices and psychological well-being among older adults. Psychological well-being includes emotional balance, self-esteem, life satisfaction, positive relationships, autonomy, purpose in life, and ability to cope with stress, loneliness, illness, and age-related changes. The study also examines how psychological well-being influences quality of life, which refers to the overall satisfaction of older adults with their physical health, mental condition, social relationships, financial security, family support, and living environment. Old age is a sensitive stage of life marked by retirement, reduced physical strength, chronic illnesses, social isolation, dependency, bereavement, and changing family roles. However, older adults who maintain active lifestyles, healthy food habits, regular exercise, meaningful relationships, and positive thinking may experience better well-being and improved quality of life. The study is significant because it highlights the need for health promotion, social support, community participation, geriatric care, and age-friendly environments for older adults. The findings may help families, healthcare professionals, counsellors, policymakers, and community organizations design programmes that promote healthy ageing, psychological well-being, and better quality of life among older adults.
