Vollständiger Abstract

Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?

The rapid growth of digital banking and financial services has significantly improved customer convenience by enabling secure, fast, and accessible financial transactions. However, this digital transformation has also increased the exposure of banks to various cybersecurity threats, including phishing attacks, malware, ransomware, identity theft, data breaches, and unauthorized access. This study examines the major cybersecurity challenges faced in digital banking and financial services with special reference to Kotak Mahindra Bank. The research focuses on understanding the nature of cyber threats, evaluating the effectiveness of the bank's cybersecurity practices, and analyzing customer awareness regarding digital security measures. A descriptive research methodology is adopted using both primary and secondary data sources. Primary data are collected through structured questionnaires administered to customers, while secondary data are gathered from journals, annual reports, RBI guidelines, and published research articles. The findings indicate that although Kotak Mahindra Bank has implemented advanced security mechanisms such as multi-factor authentication, encryption, real-time transaction monitoring, and fraud detection systems, evolving cyber threats continue to pose significant challenges. The study also reveals that customer awareness and adherence to safe digital banking practices play a crucial role in minimizing cybersecurity risks. The research concludes that continuous technological advancements, regular security audits, employee training, customer education, and compliance with regulatory standards are essential for strengthening cybersecurity in digital banking. The study provides valuable insights for banking professionals, policymakers, and researchers in enhancing the security and reliability of digital financial services.
