Vollständiger Abstract
Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?
Group Psychology by Sigmund Freud is a seminal work on the behavior and psychology of crowds. It is a crucial text for professionals across various fields—including sociology, media studies, psychology, and political science—and holds significant importance given that the researcher had previously studied Gustave Le Bon’s. The Crowd: A Study of the Popular Mind. Consequently, examining this specific work is vital for deriving insights that could pave the way for more specialized media studies, while also offering a valuable opportunity to explore and interpret the book’s content. The research focuses exclusively on the book in question, as it constitutes the primary subject matter of the study. The research problem stems from the fact that most previous studies have failed to provide a clear classification of the primary and secondary categories upon which Freud built his theory. Consequently, this research seeks to answer the central question: What are the primary and secondary categories Freud presented in his interpretation of crowd behavior, and what are the underlying psychological mechanisms?
