Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?
Lung Cancer (LC) is one of the most common causes of cancer-related mortality worldwide, including India, with rising incidence attributed to smoking, air pollution and occupational exposures. It is broadly classified into Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC) and Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC), with very distinct pathological and therapeutic approaches. New developments and recent advances in diagnostic technologies, particularly AI tools are enhancing early diagnosis by allowing for faster assessments of radiological data such as genetic and environmental influences in terms of novel therapeutic opportunities. Immunotherapy and particularly checkpoint inhibitors, has improved survival with less toxicity. Integrative approaches involving ayurveda and homeopathy as alternative medicines are gaining more attention for curing the after effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. This review highlights current advancements in diagnosis and treatment strategies for LC, particularly focusing on the new molecular as well as alternative therapies in the context of Indian healthcare.
