Vollständiger Abstract

Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?

Among advanced oxidation processes, Fenton’s reagent has gained attention for its ability to achieve high levels of purification at room temperature and atmospheric pressure, while utilizing non-harmful and easy-to-handle chemicals. Its efficiency and simplicity make it a promising solution in water treatment applications. In this study, an effort was made to degrade organic pollutants in laboratory wastewater using homogeneous Fenton system. The experiments were conducted under batch conditions. Key parameters such as reaction time, pH, concentrations of hydrogen peroxide and ferrous sulfate heptahydrate were investigated for their impact on the degradation of organics and ammonia in the wastewater. And the removal rate of COD was assessed. The range of operating parameters was examined. The results were significant for removal of COD and ammonia. The duration of the reaction played a constructive role in enhancing the overall efficiency. The impact of pH and the ferrous ion was essential at the optimal conditions. The effect of oxidant on the removal efficiencies was remarkable. The rate removal of COD and ammonia was 94.8% and 86.5% respectively, at high concentration of oxidant and pH of 3 and FeSO₄·7H₂O of 1.77 g/l.
