Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?
Doomscrolling has been associated with negative affect, yet the emotional processes that increase this behavior remain unclear. Researchers hypothesize that exposure to a sadness-inducing video will increase doomscrolling tendencies. Participants (n= 63) were randomly assigned to a sad (n = 30) or neutral (n = 33) condition before completing measures of affect and doomscrolling. Results from a one-way ANOVA revealed no significant difference in doomscrolling tendencies between conditions, F (1, 61) = 0.85, p = .361. These findings suggest that while mood changed, temporary negative affect did not significantly influence doomscrolling behavior.
