Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?
Hypertensive heart diseases (HHD) pose a global health challenge, contributing to morbidity and mortality. Understanding the disease's aspects is crucial to reduce its burden. Laboratory diagnostics have advanced in diagnosing and managing HHD. Integration of emerging biomarkers, imaging techniques, genetics, Omics technologies, and AI analytics can transform clinical practice and improve outcomes. Challenges in laboratory diagnosis include lack of specific biomarkers, variability in biomarker levels, overlapping clinical presentations, limited accessibility and high cost of imaging, genetic complexity, and ethical considerations. Addressing these challenges requires research, standardization, accessibility, collaboration, validation, and patient empowerment. The prevalence of HHD is increasing globally by 137.91% from 7.82million in 1990, due to urbanization, unhealthy lifestyles, aging populations, and socioeconomic disparities. Raising awareness, improving healthcare access, and implementing preventive measures are essential. A comprehensive approach integrating public health initiatives, healthcare system strengthening, and individual empowerment is necessary. In Nigeria, HHD prevalence is rising due to urbanization, lifestyle changes, socioeconomic disparities, an aging population, and limited healthcare infrastructure. Addressing these trends requires prevention, early detection, and effective hypertension management. Strengthening healthcare systems, promoting health education, and implementing targeted interventions are crucial in reducing the burden of HHD in Nigeria. Research and knowledge gaps exist in the field of trends in the prevalence and laboratory diagnosis of hypertensive heart diseases (HHD). These gaps hinder our understanding of the disease, limit effective diagnostic and management strategies, and impede the development of evidence-based interventions. Key research gaps include the lack of standardized diagnostic criteria, the need for longitudinal studies to track disease trends, biomarker discovery and validation, integration of omics technologies, development of accessible diagnostic tools, addressing ethical and legal considerations, and understanding health disparities. Addressingthese gaps will contribute to improved strategies for early detection, management, and prevention of HHD.
