Vollständiger Abstract

Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?

Bladder tumors rank second among urinary system cancers and fourth among the most common cancers in men. Bladder hernias constitute a small proportion (1–3%) of all hernias, and only a much smaller fraction of these are associated with bladder tumors. In treatment, the tumor is surgically excised and hernia repair is performed. In this case report, a 64-year-old male patient who presented to the general surgery outpatient clinic with complaints of inguinal swelling, pollakiuria, hematuria, and nocturia was evaluated. Following clinical evaluation, a joint surgical intervention was scheduled by the departments of Urology and General Surgery, comprising simultaneous mesh hernia repair and cystoscopic resection of the lesion. Histopathological examination confirmed papillary urothelial carcinoma; consequently, further surgical management was advised, and the patient was transitioned to outpatient follow-up. When evaluating cases with scrotal swelling, clinicians ought to consider potential bladder herniation, ensuring thorough diagnostic workup through multidisciplinary cystoscopic and advanced radiological assessments.
