Social media has become an inseparable part of adolescents' lives by easing communication and access to information, yet excessive use risks fostering addiction that affects learning activities, social relationships, and students' psychological well-being. This condition was also found among students at SMP Negeri 10 Palu, most of whom used social media more often for entertainment than for supporting learning, indicating a need to strengthen their digital literacy. This study aimed to examine the effect of digital literacy information services on preventing social media addiction among students. A quantitative approach with a pre-experimental One Group Pretest-Posttest Design was employed, involving 29 eighth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a social media addiction questionnaire administered before and after the service, then analyzed through normality tests, homogeneity tests, and a Paired Sample t-Test using SPSS version 27.
