Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?
Financial management is a crucial aspect for university students in effectively organizing and utilizing their financial resources. The ability to manage finances can be influenced by various factors, including financial literacy, lifestyle, the use of financial technology, and mental accounting. This study aims to determine whether financial literacy, lifestyle, financial technology, and mental accounting influence students' financial management. The study population consists of students from the Accounting Study Program at Universitas Pamulang. A quantitative, associative research approach was employed, utilizing questionnaires for data collection. The sample comprised 149 individuals, selected using the Slovin formula with a 10% margin of error. Data analysis involved classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, the coefficient of determination, and t-tests, performed using SPSS 25 software. The results indicate that financial literacy and mental accounting have a positive and significant partial effect on financial management; financial technology has a negative partial effect on financial management; and lifestyle has no significant partial effect on financial management. These findings suggest that students' financial management is influenced by their level of financial literacy and their mental accounting capabilities. Meanwhile, the use of financial technology shows a negative influence on financial management, indicating that the ease of conducting transactions does not necessarily translate to better financial management. Conversely, lifestyle does not demonstrate a significant influence on students' financial management.
