Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?
The article substantiates the theoretical and methodological foundations for assessing the spatial asymmetry of product and production-resource markets in the livestock sector amid contemporary economic, security, logistical, and environmental challenges. It has been shown that traditional methodological approaches, which focus predominantly on evaluating volume indicators and price differentiation, fail to account for the complex interplay among resource availability, digital readiness, biosafety resilience, and environmental sustainability necessary for post-war recovery. To address these limitations, a novel conceptual framework based on the principle of “bio-digital adaptability” (developed by researchers at the Institute of Animal Science of the NAAS) is introduced. This principle emphasizes evaluating not only existing spatial disparities but also the adaptive capacity of regional production systems to mitigate external shocks by integrating digital technologies (IoT monitoring, UAVs, AI-driven management) and biosafety protocols. The study proposes a comprehensive evaluation framework comprising economic, spatial-infrastructural, and resource-environmental dimensions. The scientific novelty lies in the formulation and integration of original diagnostic indices developed by the research team: the Resource Market Concentration Index (RMCI) to identify hidden import dependencies; the Livestock Digital Infrastructure Index (LDII) to evaluate digital readiness; the Circular Spatial Index (CSI) to assess the potential of recycling organic waste into circular bioeconomy chains; and the Biosafety Asymmetry Index (BAI) for the spatial diagnosis of epizootic risks. Conceptual and functional models integrating these indicators into a unified analytical tool are developed, enabling the identification of regional resilience profiles and providing a scientific basis for targeted investment and post-war reconstruction of Ukraine’s agricultural sector.
