Adaptive development of enterprises in the digital economy and global instability

Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?

The article substantiates the economic essence of adaptive enterprise development under the conditions of the digital economy and global instability. Adaptive development is not interpreted as a situational response to crisis pressure, cost reduction, or adjustment to separate external changes. It is proposed to understand it as a continuous, managed, and economically grounded process of qualitative renewal of resources, business processes, competencies, digital tools, and managerial decisions within an enterprise. The article clarifies that business resilience in the current environment is achieved not by preserving an unchanged operating model, but by the enterprise’s ability to identify changes in a timely manner, assess risks, transform internal processes, and maintain controllability under uncertainty. The relationships among adaptive development, financial resilience, organizational flexibility, digital maturity, personnel readiness, innovation activity, and risk management are revealed. It is shown that digital technologies are significant not only as automation tools, but also as a basis for analytical management support, change forecasting, and the creation of new enterprise value. The logic of adaptive development formation is proposed, including the identification of environmental changes, monitoring and risk assessment, the selection of managerial decisions, the renewal of resources, processes, and competencies, and the achievement of business resilience. The practical value of the study lies in its potential to improve strategic enterprise management, increase readiness for digital transformation, and ensure development amid uncertainty. The proposed approach integrates economic rationality, digital capabilities, and organizational mobility into a single managerial logic focused on long-term business viability.
