Vollständiger Abstract
Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?
Aim: The aim of this article was to assess the importance of recreational and sports services in increasing the attractiveness of stays at health resorts. Materials and Methods: This objective was achieved through an expert survey involving deliberately selected physicians working in sanatoriums, primary care clinics and specialist hospitals; physiotherapists working in sanatoriums and specialist hospitals; individuals from local government administration associated with health treatments; and researchers dealing with health resort issues. Results: According to the majority of experts (62%), recreational and sports services increase the attractiveness of stays at health resorts. The availability of information about these services was assessed as sufficient by most experts, although nearly a quarter indicated a lack of information. Experts’ opinions on the level of these services were divided: responses suggesting that the level of these services is good were balanced with assessments that it is poor (40.5%). The presented expert opinions support the hypothesis concerning the importance of recreational and sports services for the attractiveness of stays at health resorts. Conclusions: According to experts, recreational and sports services are an important element in the treatment and recovery process of patients because physical activity has a positive effect on mental and physical health. These opinions should reach facility hosts and managers of sanatorium facilities and health centres, as well as doctors and therapists.
