Vollständiger Abstract

Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?

Background Preservation of remaining tooth structure has become an important consideration in the rehabilitation of endodontically treated teeth. Extensive coronal destruction following root canal therapy may compromise retention, fracture resistance, and the long-term prognosis of conventional restorations. Endocrowns provide a conservative restorative option for such cases and can be selected based on the amount of remaining tooth structure, functional requirements, esthetic demands, and economic considerations. Advances in digital dentistry, including computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) and three-dimensional (3D) printing technologies, have further simplified fabrication and reduced clinical and laboratory processing time. Case Presentation This case series presents three cases of extensively damaged endodontically treated teeth rehabilitated with endocrown restorations fabricated using an indirect digital workflow and different restorative materials. The cases were managed using digital techniques, with the selected restorative materials and fabrication approaches tailored to the clinical requirements of each case. The restorations were evaluated clinically for their short-term performance and overall clinical acceptability. Conclusion Within the limitations of this case series, endocrown restorations fabricated using an indirect digital workflow demonstrated satisfactory short-term clinical performance in the rehabilitation of endodontically treated teeth with extensive coronal destruction. Digital fabrication workflows may provide a clinically practical and conservative approach for restoring extensively damaged endodontically treated teeth.
