European Health Evidence

The European alternative to PubMed

EUVIMED is the European alternative to PubMed: a central, multilingual research platform for medicine, nursing, life sciences and healthcare. It brings together international and European literature sources, study registries, open-access full texts, citations and retraction notices in one search. Unlike pure bibliographic databases, EUVIMED supports the entire research process – from discovery and appraisal with LIVIA and CLARA to traceable evidence synthesis. European in focus, transparent, interoperable and designed for science and healthcare.

The Impact of a Licensed Practical Nurse Residency

Nicole Quaranta, Andrea Sartain

Journal for Nurses in Professional Development · 2026

Vollständiger Abstract

Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?

Residency programs are popular initiatives for graduate nurses’ transition into practice and currently focus on registered nurses and not licensed practical nurses. This program evaluation assessed a novel residency program geared towards these clinicians to determine the effect on transition to practice. There was an 81.8% retention rate, which was the intended effect of the program. This program evaluation suggests that a licensed practical nurse-specific residency program improves rates of retention and confidence.
