Abstract Objectives Delayed risk identification, heterogeneous disease trajectories, and poor alignment of psychosocial interventions with patient and carer needs continue to challenge dementia care. Artificial intelligence (AI) offers promise for improving dementia risk prediction, while psychological interventions remain important for supporting individuals with dementia and their carers. Methods This narrative review presents a conceptual synthesis integrating evidence from published studies on AI-based dementia risk prediction and evidence-based psychological interventions. The literature was synthesised to examine how AI-informed risk stratification may be aligned with stepped psychological and psychosocial interventions, including carer support, cognitive stimulation therapy, and behavioural management approaches. Results Published studies report moderate-to-high predictive accuracy for AI-based dementia risk models, particularly when multimodal clinical, cognitive, and biomarker data are incorporated. Collectively, the available evidence suggests that integrating AI-informed risk stratification with psychological and psychosocial intervention pathways may support earlier targeting of care, reduce carer burden, facilitate potential delay in institutionalisation, and mitigate behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia. Conclusions Integrating AI-informed risk prediction with evidence-based psychological interventions provides a promising conceptual framework for more proactive and personalised dementia care. Further empirical research is needed to evaluate the effectiveness, acceptability, implementation, and ethical integration of AI-guided psychosocial care pathways across diverse dementia care settings. Clinical Implications AI-guided risk stratification may support earlier and more targeted psychological and psychosocial interventions, improving care planning, reducing carer burden, and contributing to more coordinated, person-centred dementia care.
