European Health Evidence

The European alternative to PubMed

EUVIMED is the European alternative to PubMed: a central, multilingual research platform for medicine, nursing, life sciences and healthcare. It brings together international and European literature sources, study registries, open-access full texts, citations and retraction notices in one search. Unlike pure bibliographic databases, EUVIMED supports the entire research process – from discovery and appraisal with LIVIA and CLARA to traceable evidence synthesis. European in focus, transparent, interoperable and designed for science and healthcare.

Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety · 2026

Vollständiger Abstract

Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?

Key Points Public health faces increasingly complex challenges for pharmacoepidemiology: monitoring and evaluating the safety and effectiveness of medicines in real‐world populations, predicting and responding to emerging diseases and outbreaks, overcoming inequities in drug access and outcomes, managing risks from widespread medication use, and countering misinformation about treatments. These challenges are further intensified by financial constraints and shifting geopolitical pressures. Scientific and professional organizations such as the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE) play a critical advocacy role. ISPE advocates for the effective translation of scientific evidence into policy and healthcare practice. This is driven by purposeful, sustained efforts that bridge evidence and action across health systems and stakeholders around the globe.
