Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?
Climate change increasingly disrupts public health through frequent, severe disasters, rendering traditional deployable hospitals inadequate for unpredictable climate demands. This paper examines the unique requirements for healthcare infrastructure in extreme environments and proposes a shift toward advanced technological solutions, including air-inflated structures, smart materials, 3D printing, and autonomous robotics. We advocate for modular, sustainable, and age-friendly designs that integrate mental health and community services and remain in the field beyond the acute disaster phase, to ensure continuity of care. Realizing this vision requires a multidisciplinary task force of architects, engineers, and healthcare professionals working together to build resilient, adaptive infrastructure for an escalating climate crisis.
