Vollständiger Abstract

Worum geht es in dieser Arbeit?

Abstract: Acquired brain injury leads to numerous affective symptoms, and coping with these changes can be a burdensome process. Therefore, we aimed to validate a guided imagery intervention with basic mindfulness elements (GIME) for patients in early neurological rehabilitation (ENR). Patients ( N = 30) could choose among four different scenarios and were presented with the intervention up to six times. Statistical analyses revealed a highly significant improvement in mood, arousal, and pain with large effect sizes. The above-mentioned improvements were found continuously for repeated applications. We found our GIME to be a useful, feasible, and easy tool to implement in everyday clinical life within the ENR.
